The Solubility of Tertiary Calcium Phosphate in Cerebrospinal Fluid
نویسنده
چکیده
It was shown in a recent publication (1) that blood serum is normally supersaturated with tertiary calcium phosphate, and the suggestion was made that other body fluids are similarly supersaturated with this salt. In order to confirm this idea, solubility experiments were undertaken with cerebrospinal fluid; it was furthermore hoped that these studies might throw some light on the question of the distribution of calcium and phosphorus between blood serum and spinal fluid.

Investigation of Macroporous Calcium Phosphate Cement Obtained by Foamed Gelatin Polymer
This study deals with the effect of gelatin on physical and mechanical properties of calcium phosphate bone cements. The mixture of tetracalcium phosphate (TTCP) and dicalcium phosphate (DCPA) as the cement powder was mixed with 6 wt% Na2HPO4 solution containing different amount (0, 2, 5 and 8% in w/w) of foamed gelatin as liquid phase. The physical properties were determined in the terms of s...

Fouling is a common, fundamental and costly problem in heat transfer systems, which reduces thermal efficiency of equipment, increases the energy loss and causes strong damage to the heat transfer equipment in various industries. The main causes of fouling on the heat transfer surfaces are salts with inverse temperature-solubility in the fluid which calcium sulfate is one of the most important ...
متن کاملEnterobius vermicularis in Cerebrospinal Fluid
Enterobius vermicularis is a nematod of large intestine in man. Extra intestinal localization of this parasite is rare. A 60 year old man was admitted to the hospital with the clinical manifestation of meningitis. In laboratory examination of cerebrospinal fluid (C.S.F), the appearance was red, Albu-min level was high and the glucose showed normal value. Haematoxylin and Eosin stained slides pr...
متن کاملEffect of pulsed current densities on co-electrodeposition of Graphene Oxide/ Calcium-Phosphate coatings and their biocompatibility
In this study, calcium-phosphate (Ca-P) and graphene oxide (GO)/ calcium-phosphate (Ca-P) coatings were electrodeposited with different pulsed current densities on TiO2 nanotubes. Results showed that the co-electrodeposition rate in the presence of GO, especially at low current densities of 2 and 5 mA/cm2, significantly decreased. This might be due to the large size of GO sheets as compared to ...

Most commercial water contains alkaline earth metal cations such as magnesium, calcium and barium, and anions such as carbonate, bicarbonate, sulfate, silicate, oxalate, phosphate, etc. Different combinations of these anions and cations will give rise to potentially scalant systems, such as calcium carbonate, calcium silicate, calcium sulfate, calcium oxalate, barium sulfate, magnesium sulfate,...
